In a statement released today, over 600 professionals are urging Congress to stop water fluoridation until Congressional hearings are conducted. The Minister has a duty to deal with the fluoridation issue

The Irish Medicines Board’s defence of its failure to act on water fluoridation (IMN 28/05/07) is based on three grounds, each of which is, in our view, invalid. First, the Medicines Directive (2004/27EC) defines a medicinal product in Article One, subsection A as: “any substance… presented as treating or preventing disease in human beings.” Subsection B adds: “Any substance administered to human beings… by exerting a pharmacological or metabolic action” is a medicinal product. The Irish Medicines Board (‘IMB’) was today served with an enforcement notice for its failure to act on the breach both of a European Directive and Irish Regulations governing medicinal products by Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment (VOICE) , which is campaigning to end fluoridation of drinking water. US health watchdog against fluoridation

Dublin, January 22th 2007

A second major US health watchdog, the Center for Disease Control last week repeated the November 9th warning by the American Dental Association not to use fluoridated tap water to make up infant formula due to its direct link to dental fluorosis.

“Irish parents are being kept in the dark about this new fluoride alert because Mary Harney perpetuates the cover-up to protect the holy cow of water fluoridation even if it means putting thousands of babies in Ireland at risk of dental fluorosis” said VOICE spokesman Robert Pocock, adding “ fluoridation has to be stopped immediately” ...read more...
