Some years ago VOICE identified the need to co-ordinate national and local groups to optimize implementation of the Water Framework Directive, and to that end sought funding for and established the SWAN network. Check out www.swanireland.ie for more information.

VOICE has continued to played a key role in its development and is the host and support organization for the SWAN network.

We are currently working on significant water issues policy papers on five important issues: planning and development; public participation; protected areas; climate change; and agriculture.

VOICE is also conducting an educational roadshow on water quality in October 2007. For further details on this, please contact the office.
