Each Picker Pod is filled with high-quality litter-picking equipment, including picker-uppers, Hi-viz vests & gloves. All of which are designed to make clean-ups safe, effective & fun.
The pod also includes a class set of engaging Picker Pals reader books and fun activity books that inspire learning and creativity.
The Picker Pod’s box doubles up as classroom wall poster and schools that run the programme over multiple years are encouraged to reuse their equipment and opt to receive “Booster Boxes” instead of new full kits. These allow them to re-use existing kit while refreshing key materials for a new group of children.
Photos shared by teachers and families of children out litter-picking are turned into celebratory picture galleries that give recognition to everyone’s hard work and effort.
These picture galleries highlight the pride, fun and impact of being a Picker Pal and help inspire even more schools to get involved.

In addition to litter-picking, classes that take part in Picker Pals are able to access monthly online lessons that the Voice educational team deliver via Zoom.
The themes of these lessons change each month and cover a wide range of environmental topics like the Circular Economy, Reducing Our Use, Biodiversity and more. Each lesson is topped off with our popular and fiercely competitive Kahoot quiz.
Every year, we invite children to take part in our art and story competitions, where they can share their vision of a better world through drawings, paintings and imaginative writing.
Winning entries are featured in our publications and online.
