Preparing for Next Year with Picker Pals!

Sandra Glynn (Project Lead Finance)

As we reach the end of a record-breaking year for Picker Pals in which students from 1,500 Irish classrooms became environmental leaders, it’s now time to look forward. At VOICE Ireland, we are launching two major callouts to shape next year’s programme, and we need both our teachers and our community supporters on board.

Calling All Teachers!

We are now inviting primary and special school teachers across Ireland to sign up for the upcoming school year. You can register your classroom in just two minutes by clicking the link HERE

The programme is aimed primarily at 1st and 2nd classes, as well as Special Classes, though applications from all class levels are welcome. The programme is fully available in both English and as Gaeilge. Places are limited and in the event of over-subscription, preference is given to schools that have not previously taken part. For returning schools, we encourage the reuse of your existing equipment, which we will happily refresh with "Booster Boxes" containing new books and smaller items.

If your application for a full pack is successful, your classroom will receive a Picker Pack filled with high-quality litter-picking tools, full access to our year-long online education programme, and entry into our incredibly popular national art and storytelling competitions. It is a simple, fun way to empower a new generation of environmentally aware young people and families.

Partner With Us: Power Local Impact

An initiative this impactful is only possible through collective action. We are extending a callout to potential corporate and philanthropic funders looking to enhance their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.

Our corporate partners show us how targeted classroom sponsorship sparks real change. For instance, Deloitte funded classrooms located right on the doorsteps of their regional sites, connecting their workforce straight to local sustainability initiatives. Meanwhile, companies like Smurfit Westrock chose to sponsor classes in DEIS or special schools to make a meaningful impact in educationally disadvantaged communities, while Sky Ireland has teamed up with Picker Pals to organise litter-picking events near its Dublin office, giving employees a meaningful way to make an immediate, visible difference.

Whether you want to sponsor a handful of schools near your offices or drive a broader educational campaign, your support ensures schools can join completely free of charge. Let’s write the next big success story together.
